Business Rates Inspection and Measurement
Introduction
In order to produce an accurate valuation of any property, it is necessary to carry out an inspection in order to reference the measurements in line with recognised standards. We will arrange to inspect your property in advance and only call when someone is present to escort us on the inspection. It is useful if the person accompanying the inspection is knowledgeable of the property such as a site engineer.
What we do
It is necessary to gather the information that will assist with the accurate measurement of the property and we will normally need to:
-
Gain access to all parts of the property.
-
Obtain a copy of the property plan.
-
Obtain a copy of an asset register for the property.
-
Take photos of all parts of the property both internally and externally.
Surveying standards
We will measure your property in line with standards used by both the RICS and Land & Property Services.
After we visit
We will use your property data to value your property in line with recognised principles and practice. We will identify any variance between the measurements we've recorded and those of Land & Property Services. This may show areas of concern in the valuation of your property. The last stage is to report back to you with our findings and outline the actions required moving forward.
